Telugu Film Industry has witnessed a historic opening week at box office with Dookudu.
Telugu films have been struggling at box office this year without proper hits and with dubbing films ruling the market for the past few months. In this situation, Dookudu’s huge success brought a big relief for Telugu Film Industry.
The film which released on 23rd of September in 900 screens across the world has collected a humongous share of 30 Crores in its opening week. It crossed the opening week share of Magadheera by 25% and shattered all opening week records in all areas except Ceded and Nellore.

In Bhimavaram, it crossed the full share of Mahesh babu’s previous hit Pokiri within a week, setting a new town record. Even in B centers like Machilipatnam, Ongole, Tenali, the film crossed first week records by huge margins. Even in Ceded which is considered as a slightly weak area for Mahesh, the film created new records in Tirupathi, Chittore, Anantapur and Kurnool.
In Overseas, Dookudu had a mind boggling opening of 1.5 Million in its opening weekend in USA alone.
The film has set new records in other countries like UK, Australia. Even in countries like Singapore where Telugu film market is very less, the film is releasing on 30th of September and 1800 -2000 tickets are already sold out.
